Planning achieved for new Outdoor Education Centre in Snowdonia National Park

We are pleased to have secured planning permission for Phase 2 of the new facilities for CMC Adventure's Outdoor Activities centre at Pensarn Harbour, LLanbedr in the Eryri/Snowdonia National Park.

The project is located within a tidal estuary flood zone and involved works to important heritage assets on the site, including a lime kiln. These contextual features strongly influenced the design proposal.

The scheme reorganises the site to better manage the centres activities and provides new bedroom and living accommodation as well as improved boat storage and maintenance facilities.

This is a significant milestone for the project. Snug Architects worked as both architect and project manager to support the client through RIBA Stages 1-3 throughout both Phase 1 and 2 of the project. Successfully negotiating planning support for this significant project in such a constrained and sensitive location has been very satisfying. We look forward to working closely with the trustees and their team at CMC Adventure as they now look to move the project forward to construction.
