Blandford Forum
Parish Church

We delivered an extensive programme of community engagement events for a Grade 1 Listed church.

We worked with the leadership of the Grade 1 Listed Blandford Forum Parish Church to design and deliver an extensive programme of community engagement events. These provided the foundations for the church to develop a robust Statement of Need.

Snug has developed a toolkit of inclusive community engagement events that help churches to positively engage their community in the process of change. They will help support the creation of a shared vision for the future of your church buildings and provide a robust underpinning to the statutory approvals process. We use a variety of techniques that respectfully build consensus and support for change. Our team of facilitators will help put people at ease and ensure the widest possible range of views are heard and validated.

Snug helped us approach a potentially divisive issue of making changes to our Georgian church building in a creative and engaging manner, allowing people of all opinions to feel heard and valued and yet enable them to explore the possibility of change without the negative undercurrent. The output from this process will play a significant part in enabling a significant change to our church building ensuring it’s continued use as a platform for mission and ministry for the next 300 years.

Rev Chris Beaumont, Lead Minister Blandford Forum Parish Church

We worked with both the church congregation, local stakeholders and school children, engaging a wide variety of stakeholders and ensuring the widest possible audience contributed their ideas to the process. This often serves as a powerful tool for the church to engage with its local community. Our hands on facilitation also allows church leaders to participate alongside their congregation.

If your church is planning to make changes to your buildings we would love to help you engage your community in that process. Our toolkit of church engagement events will help you create a robust vision, project brief or Statement of Need that is founded on the views of the widest possible range of stakeholders.
