The Stealth House gets its name both from its form and the way that it disguises the true volume of the property. Located on the edge of the Winchester Conservation Area, the brief was to more than double the size of the property it replaced. Its gently undulating form emerges from our theory of 'shrink wrapped function', where superfluous volume is removed, leaving only the essence of the buildings function. The result is a highly dynamic, cost effective and efficient building envelope. Internally a double height void slices through the heart of the building, flooding the home with light.
“The concept of the 'stealth' house was creative, innovative and, above all, breathtaking and practical. After five years in the house we would not change a thing!”— Private Client
